What an excellent program i must say. A Lot of Training lessons just a click away. I just have to do my exercises now
Not worth it
Buy this when pitch meter is installed. Otherwise, not worth it.
But the riff and run starts way too high for the male which makes it a FAIL. am I supposed to riff and run in falsetto?
The app makes a good attempt at keeping you drilling vocal exercises for issues such as Breathiness, Tension and Cracking. Its inexpensive, so worth the money. I found out after completing the exercises that it is actually evaluating on pitch (good thing too) - but why on earth does 1.3.2 not give you a score after each exercise to encourage you perfect the last one before going on to the next.
i have used this app for fun. but its been about 2 years. and i see some improvement. Its not a professional way to improve ur voice or vocal. but its effective in minor ways. I admit its pretty useful
Scales are a little on the complicated side. Even the scale used for the diagnostic is challenging. Wish I had known that before buying.
It looks like it is designed only for retina displays so it will work on my iPhone 4 but not on my iPad. For the rest it is nice it dies what it says. Hopefully in future release a tool recognize automatically each own voice.
I was very skeptical after reading these reviews. But I am amazed. Shame on all you haters out there. This app rocks! This has totally helped me reach the high notes that use to be impossible.
I was constantly feeling weak in my speaking voice and had lost alot of my desire to talk. I had been told I need speech therapy but cant afford that. I have been doing the "tension" exercise while driving for about two weeks and I must say what a huge improvement!! Granted, you must have some talent vocally or this app will be useless for you. If you have some singing ability though, this may help you. I would like to see more interaction with the app in the future but over all worth the money!!
I bought this many months ago and kind of let it go by the wayside. Recently I started taking lessons from someone who uses the Speech Level Singing technique. Expensive but private and thorough. I then took another look at this app and realized that so much of the technique, the exercises, etc use the SLS technique. Ive been working out with the app now in between being able to afford the private coaching. Its not like having someone there correcting you but its pretty damn good and def worth the money.
Exercises are great for aspiring singers. I look forward to be able to correct my pitch, record my voice and hear it back as promised for the future updates. Loved it!!!
Well, it is what it is. I dont think this will help at all if youve never had lessons or dont already know how to sing. It is, however, very useful for practicing on the go. All it is is a bunch of Pre recorded piano runs and exercises. Thats exactly what I need though. I was actually going to make an mp3 of the very same thing for myself but now I dont need to. Im very excited to see those updates.
Waste of money!
This app is so great! It especially comes in handy when I need to warm up my voice for an audition or performance. Its so convenient having it on me at all times on my iPhone. I really recommend this app to all singers!
I think this is the best app out there to help people sing better. Of course it doesnt replace a real teacher but it has been helping me in between lessons. Ive recommended to all my singer friends.
I like this app a lot.
This app is basically just a set of prerecorded scales. Although the tutorial begins with a "diagnostic," the program neither hears or records ones voice. After singing through the diagnosis, one plays through a set of prerecorded vocal samples and chooses whichever one seems most like ones own voice. Since there is no recording of the diagnosis there is no way to compare it to the various samples. The diagnosis is pure sham. I decided that my vocal type is cracking as opposed to say, breathy, but that comes solely from listening to the samples. When I first read about this app, there was a mention that there was no pitch meter at present but that one would come with an upgrade. That really misled me. Before you can detect pitch, you need the ability to record and play back! Talking about pitch correction is pie in the sky at present. There are lots of 5 star reviews, but these seem to be from people who want/need only some prerecorded vocal exercises. The only negative review that I saw was someone who said the app should be free. While that is true enough, the review is not helpful since it doesnt say why. My sense is that the app deserves a low rating because it does not in any way do more than a simple tape loop could.
I used this program nearly everyday to warm up and get my scales done before shows and practices. But since the update, this has been nothing but a buggy failure for me to use. The memory in my 3GS seems to be the problem. The prerecorded tracks worked fine before and still seem to, when the woman is talking, but when the scales are playing they click before each note is played and when the mic is on the notes play too slow to even warm up. I would like my paid for previous version back please.
